I HAD A Vision!

  1. Rule the world
  2. Travel the entire world on a motorcycle
  3. Have 5 children with a wife and 3 pets(2 dogs and a pig)

All these above is actual visions I have ever since I was a kid. I am still working on how I would achieve number one. When I was a kid, I used to dream becoming a man with power to do whatever he wants. To make it more realistic, it became ruling the world. Since money is the power now, I have enrolled myself into Baruch college to learn how I can efficiently and effectively make enough money to rule the world.

Traveling the world on a motorcycle is a vision I had developed during my years in high school. While most of my friends had become interested in street racing and customizing cars, I had my interest in motorcycles. But my family, including my brother, was against it therefore I could not get a bike or license. They are against it because riding a motorcycle has tremendous risk of getting badly hurt, or die, when accidents happen. And that accident does not have to be from mistakes of mine. Because of this, I sneaked into DMV when I turned to 18 and got my license without telling them. But getting a motorcycle still isn't an option. So when I get my complete independence from my family, which I'm still working on, I will be enjoying my ride on a highway somewhere. Eventually on to the world.

Having 5 children with a wife and 3 pets might not sound as challenging as the two visions above. But it really is something that requires most luck out of all three. Because only action I can take to achieve this goal is marrying a woman. But I cannot control whether or not I will be able to have 5 children. Also the woman I marry might not even want to have a child. Even if she does, taking care of 5 children with 3 pets will be disastrous for her. It may sound like something that any man can achieve, but it really is somthing decided only by a luck.

What I did in the chaos of Decision Making Process

Among the ways of handling the conflict, I chose to use avoidance. I chose this one because the situation was a chaos. Nothing was going to get done and nothing was being done until the last 10 minutes of the class. Therefore I chose to sit around and observe what others did so I could get something out of this decision making process. Given what I know now, what happened during that class, I would have suggested more different options we could have had: take home exams, open book exams, etc... I also would have proposed to others these options early in the discussion to reach better decision in the end, with better options.By doing this people could have better postion arguing with others who competed to win to make better compromise for everyone. This would have been better because it would have been just for everyone in class and would have provided better options for everyone as well.

Planning Process

Defining goals and objectives were given to us in the beginning of the activity. We were given what to use with chance of testing those items. For step 3 we have made plans to design the straws in certain ways so that only straws that all the damage from the drop. But we only came up with one strategy and worked on it. We did not form any alternative ideas because we were sure about our plan; which came out to be a mistake. We have planned who will be making the design, who will do the straw part, who will control the tape, and who will drop the egg. Last step became nothing like what we planned. The design we planned was not what we made. Everyone was on the making the design of the egg. Nothing went as we planned. We constantly revised our designing during making of it then time was up. Our planning until step 4 was in good shape. When the actual implement of our plan came it was a total failure. For these reasons, I would give 7 out of 10 on our planning process.

My management Problem

Main management problem that I'm having is time management. The courses I'm taking this semester requires me to put more time into studying rather than socializing compare to other semesters. It is not just the studying that takes time away from me, it is also the readings that comes with the classes. Most of them require reading at least two newspapers and watching financial news all the time and get my informations up to date. This already caused me to bail out on my friends several times this month. I am worried about distancing myself from my friends due to these choices I made. Sacrificing one over the other was due to my failure to manage my time right never happened until now.
